395f0b9e2d Revert to old options table storage of rewrite_rules. Transient object caches would silently regenerate rewrite_rules without giving plugins a chance to readd endpoints. fixes #10981

c61e6f6bbd Remove duplicated create_function calls an use a private _search_terms_tidy function instead for tidying up the post/page searching when looking to attach orphans to a parent post or page.

1a00881a37 Introducing register_theme_directory() which takes a wp-content-relative path and will additionally scan it for themes. Plugins can use this to add themes without requiring copying by the user. props apeatling. fixes #10467
