Title attributes on abbreviations are only available to a minority of users. The
best option is to avoid unnecessary abbreviations when possible. In the other cases,
use an `<abbr>` element (which provides a hint to user agents on how to announce
and display the abbreviation) and provide an expansion in plain text on first use.
- `readme.html`: improves abbreviations and removes unnecessary `title` attributes
- options-general: removes unnecessary abbreviations and improves the remaining ones
- customizer schedule changeset date: removes unnecessary abbreviations and improves the remaining ones
- posts table date: uses a `span` element instead of an `abbr` element because this is not an abbreviation

Screen reader users rely on the iframe title attribute to describe the contents of iframes. A meaningful title attribute allows to quickly identify the iframe content, so users can determine which iframe to enter and explore in detail or skip if desired.
Note: this is the only case where a title attribute is required for compliance with the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- checks for oEmbed response of type `video` or `rich`
- checks if they use an iframe
- fetches the title (if any) from the oEmbed response
- adds the title to the embed iframe

Many users found the attachment URL field confusing: it says "URL" so it may appear like a field meant to paste a URL into.
Also, the Alt text field is the most important one in terms of content, while the Title field needs to be de-emphasized.
- changes the URL field label to "Copy link"
- moves the alt text field to the top as first field
- avoids to set initial focus on the alt text field
- adds an explanatory text with a link pointing to the W3C "alt decision tree" tutorial
- adds `aria-describedby` to target the explanatory text
- adjusts the CSS accordingly
- updates the QUnit index.html file

- Skips validation where there is no attribute definition, but keeps the attribute value. Previously, the attribute would be omitted from the attributes passed to `render_callback`. Notably, this resolves an issue where `render_callback` cannot receive a block's `align` and `customClassName` attribute values, since these are defined as a client-side filter.
- Validates `null` as a proper value in its own right. Previously, a client implementation of a block could track `{“attribute":null}` as an explicitly empty value, and the server would wrongly initiate defaulting behavior. The new behavior will now only populate a default value if the attribute is not defined at all, including when unset in its being invalid per the attribute schema.

When 'parent' is set as the path argument name, it gets passed down through to the `create_item()` method and can erroneously reset the 'parent' value on the post itself. Instead, we rename the argument to 'id' and replicate the revision controller's `get_items_permissions_check()` to instead reference 'id'.
Also ensures revision query params (of which there are many) aren't exposed as the query params for autosaves (of which there are two).

- Adds `WP_REST_Autosaves_Controller` which extends `WP_REST_Revisions_Controller`.
- Autosaves endpoint is registered for all post types except attachment because even post types without revisions enabled are expected to autosave.
- Because setting the `DOING_AUTOSAVE` constant pollutes the test suite, autosaves tests are run last. We may want to improve upon this later.
Also, use a truly impossibly high number in User Controller tests. The number `100`, (or `7777` in `trunk`), could be valid in certain test run configurations. The `REST_TESTS_IMPOSSIBLY_HIGH_NUMBER` constant is impossibly high for this very reason.

In many a strange and curious file of forgotten lore—
While I pondered, blaming Nacin, my notifications suddenly awakened,
As of someone quietly DMing;—DMing me, I can’t ignore.
“’Tis some contributor,” I muttered, “DMing me an idea or four—
Only this and nothing more.”
Ah, distinctly I remember, at WordCamp US, last December;
A mad proposal nearly laid me—down out cold—upon the floor.
Curious, I listened closely;—to a plan I agreed with, mostly—
A way to make our JavaScript—JavaScript which was a chore—
Maintainable, extendable, for the future, is what I saw.
Guten-ready for evermore.
Open here I switch to Slack, when, with many a patch and hack,
In there stepped Omar, a JavaScript developer hardcore;
Pronouncing all the changes fit; ready now to be commit;
“There’s nothing else for us to do,” DMing me, “It’s done!” he swore—
“No longer random guessing at which file need next be explored—
Let’s move on, we’re all aboard.”
Moved all together, grouped and managed, in folders all is packaged,
The code had all been cleaned and tidied, important parts moved to the fore,
“Though this change be useful here,” I said, “it is too large, I fear,
We couldn’t manage such a patch, we’ve done nothing like this before—
Tell me where doth go this change, change to make our codebase soar!”
Quoth Omar, “In WordPress Core.”

Any WordPress user who can `edit_posts` of a post type with `show_in_rest=true` can query for authors. This maps to current WordPress behavior where a WordPress user who can view the Manage Posts view for a post type can see any WordPress user assigned to a post (whether published or draft).
This implementation, over restricting `who=authors` to users with `list_users`, gives us future flexibility in displaying lists of posts. It still respects more restrictive permissions for `context=edit`.

Often, folks run into two issues when they create new menus: they click "Add a Menu" thinking it will add a new page to their menu, or they forget to assign their new menu to a location, and then wonder why it doesn't show up on their site.
This commit rearranges the order of items in the menu panel, and updates the flow for creating a menu by breaking it up into steps. Additionally, more help text has been added to guide people through the process of creating a menu.

There are now 3 places where we call out to the REST API from within wp-admin. This commit introduces a small library to allow overriding these calls, centralize nonce-passing logic, and eliminate the need to pass a full REST URL down to client code (this last feature is not yet used and will be explored in a separate ticket).

[41139] changed how the REST API URL is generated, but included an incorrect version of `wp-api-generated.js`.
This updates the generator to create the correct `wp-api-generated.js`, and updates ``wp-api-generated.js`.

When pretty permalinks are disabled, the web server will internally forward requests to `index.php`. Unfortunately, nginx only forwards HTTP/1.0 methods: `PUT`, `PATCH`, and `DELETE` methods will return a 405 error.
To work around this nginx behaviour, including `index.php` in the REST URL skips the internal redirect.

The REST API does not provide a mechanism to distinguish between endpoints representing models and those representing collections, so the Backbone client must make that distinction internally. Previously wp-api.js accounted for `/users/me`, but not for `/settings`. This patch updates the logic so that `/settings` is properly registered as a Backbone model.
When calling `wp.api.init`, additional endpoints can be specified to be models using the `modelEndpoints` argument.

Previously, changing these constants in `wp-tests-config` would cause PHPUnit to regenerate `wp-api-generated.js` with different values.
This commit uses the existing mechanism to also "freeze" all values that would change as a result of changing these constants.

The last time a new widget was introduced, Vuvuzelas were a thing, Angry Birds started taking over phones, and WordPress stopped shipping with Kubrick. Seven years and 17 releases without new widgets have been enough, time to spice up your sidebar!

During a PHPUnit test suite run, a file named `wp-api-generated.js` is created which contains some response objects that serve as fixtures for the `wp-api.js` client unit tests.
Previously, some of these API responses were actually error objects, which isn't what we want for testing. This commit fixes the existing error responses and prevents this situation in the future.

The site's current timezone offset is an important piece of information for any REST API client that needs to manipulate dates. It has not been previously available.
Expose both the `gmt_offset` (the site's current offset from UTC in hours) and `timezone_string` (which also provides information about daylight savings time) via the "site info" endpoint (the base `/wp-json` response).
Also update the `wp-api-generated.js` fixture file with the changes to the default API responses.

Add QUnit tests for the parsing of custom namespace routes. Add a custom schema fixture based on the `wp-js-widgets` plugin. Test that the client can parse the widget namespace in the schema and correctly construct the expected group of models and collections. Also includes a small unrelated QUnit fix to ensure nav-menu test passes when it is loaded without its tests executing as well as a small jshint fix, adding a missing semicolon since [40107].

Previously the status for a Post (or other post_types) was only exposed under the `edit` context, which doesn't really make much sense considering we support querying by post status without authentication. Follow-up to [40065] - `JSON_*` constants are differently unsupported in PHP 5.2 and 5.3, which caused other, more different failures.
Also bring back `JSON_UNESCAPED_SLASHES` because the generated output looks nicer this way.

git-svn-id: https://develop.svn.wordpress.org/trunk@40066 602fd350-edb4-49c9-b593-d223f7449a82
Remove `JSON_UNESCAPED_SLASHES` from the `wp_json_encode` call - this constant is not supported in PHP < 5.4, and we don't polyfill it either.
Also make the PHPUnit test suite correctly exit with a non-zero exit code when `wp-tests-config.php` is not present. This was causing `grunt restapi-jsclient` to incorrectly proceed to its second step even when the first step failed with this error.

Add a data normalization pass when generating data fixtures for the REST API endpoints. Ensures that the `wp-api-generated.js` fixture won't change between test runs. Set more default properties and use fixed values for any properties that can't be easily controlled (object IDs and derivatives like link). Generate the fixture file with JSON_PRETTY_PRINT so that future diffs are easier to follow.

git-svn-id: https://develop.svn.wordpress.org/trunk@40060 602fd350-edb4-49c9-b593-d223f7449a82
Add QUnit tests: verify that wp-api loads correctly, verify that the expected base models and collections exist and can be instantiated, verify that collections contain the correct models, verify that expected helper functions are in place for each collection.
The QUnit tests rely on two fixture files: `tests/qunit/fixtures/wp-api-generated.js` contains the data response from each core endpoint and is generated by running the PHPUnit `restapi-jsclient` group. `tests/qunit/fixtures/wp-api.js` maps the generated data to endpoint routes, and overrides `Backbone.ajax` to mock the responses for the tests.
Add PHPUnit tests in `tests/phpunit/tests/rest-api/rest-schema-setup.php`. First, verify that the API returns the expected routes via `server->get_routes()`. Then, the `test_build_wp_api_client_fixtures` test goes thru each endpoint and requests it from the API, tests that it returns data, and builds up the data for the mocked QUnit tests, saving the final results to `tests/qunit/fixtures/wp-api-generated.js`.
Add a new grunt task `restapi-jsclient` which runs the phpunit side data generation and the qunit tests together.
